The women’s wellness group at the 139club is growing in number every week. As part of the activities the group have an annual visit to a French restaurant ‘Montrachet’ is on the agenda. The restaurant is owned and run by a beaut chef called Thierry Galichet who through his generosity and kind spirit prepares a fantastic 2 course meal plus drinks for us all. Without his donation and support, like many other community minded people, the women’s group at the 139club would not exist.

How did you get in the picture Rod
The women’s group also enjoys going out to the movies, the art gallery, museum, small contemporary art galleries, and picnics can be a common occurrence. We also have guest speakers from time to time. Craft group is held regularly here during the month. The women are happily involved in learning to knit, crochet, paint and decoupage. They enjoy each others company in a quiet space to share their stories while enjoying a delicious morning tea home cooked in our kitchen.
Money was given to the group by Street Smart a community funding organiastion so that the women can participate in these activities Thank you Street Smart !! |

Long Grass Men’s Group – 139 Club Inc
The Long Grass Men’s Group is a newly formed group for the men who access the 139 Club.
The Group meets once a week with a focus on activities such as soccer, touch footy and BB’Qs. The men get together after each activity and discuss men’s business and any issues that affect men. We also have guest speakers from time to time.
The Group gives men an opportunity to socialize and to interact on a deeper level to gain insight into the many issues that males face today. The group is also supported by 139 Club Inc staff .
The group is constructed in a way that allows all participants to contribute and have ownership over the direction and development of the group.
All men are welcome just rock up on a Thursday and join in the fun.
Since the formation of the group we are now proud to announce that the Fosters Group have kindly sponsored the activities through there community grants scheme.
